“You give them something to eat…”     How Can You Help ?
These were the words Jesus spoke to his disciples during the feeding of the five thousand, the only miracle found in all four gospels. “ You give them something to eat.” While Jesus' touch was required to multiply the groceries, the disciples were responsible for distributing them. It is our pleasure to organize a staff of workers who buy, prepare, distribute, then clean up the meals. These people are a part of our team. Together we are making a difference in the lives of 120 children in three different locations.

LAM needs monthly partners who will help carry the cost of feeding the children. The cost is $1.00 per day per child. We currently feed them 3 days per week. With your help we can make a difference in a life that would otherwise be filled with struggle and hunger.

We invision 50 feeding centers, with 100 children each, located across Mexico.  Your partnership will help us to continue with the vision and help other hungry children find a better way of life.

How it began...

For two years Jim and Pam flew past Saltillo, MX on their way to Durango, MX to finish a church building project they had started with fellow missionaries. At each passing Jim would comment, “I know God is calling me to Saltillo….” Finally in the summer of 2005 Jim went there to find out why. With no contacts and only the name of a friend of a friend of a friend, it was a fact finding trip. Miraculously the friend turned out to be a local Pastor who also felt the call to facilitate the feeding of children. He and his wife had closed the feeding program that they had operated, because of the lack of finances. Within 5 months new plans were laid and the course set. Opening Day On December 14, 2005 Wings of Hope served its first meal to hungry children in the colonial of Tanquecito, Saltillo. Thinking that perhaps 25 street children would come, we prepared for 50 so as not to run short on food or Christmas gifts. To our amazement 200 children came that day for a hot meal and a word of encouragement. That day was a revelation as to the vast need represented in the poverty stricken areas of Mexico. The children who come to Wings of Hope are, in most cases, the children of single mothers. Many have been abandoned by their families and are left to rummage in the streets for their existence. Many of the mothers have been or still are involved in drugs and prostitution. The children are left as the unwanted residue of a life filled with bad choices. Yet the children suffer for these bad choices made by their parents.
